Ski Tuning Tips
How often should you tune your skis? That's a loaded question with lots of variables in giving you a good answer. It all depends on conditions, your level of performance and the terrain you ski on. A good rule of thumb, If you are a beginner, about every 10 days out you should have your skis tuned and waxed. A flat base, with appropriately sharpened edges and good wax will go a long way in your comfort level on the slopes. Advanced skiers, skiing varied terrain, every 5-8 days out. Prepping your skis for storage should also be a consideration in the spring/summer. It is generally very dry in Colorado, so having a well tuned base before you throw your precious skis into the hot corner of your garage is a smart idea.
